​Kourion (or Curium as it is also known) is a UNESCO world heritage site located 13 km west of Limassol. This city kingdom was once one of the most important towns on the island and the ongoing excavations have unearthed thousands of artefacts and remains. Although the area was inhabited from around 5500BC it reached it's peak in the Roman period.
